Van Wickle Auto Supply is a family-run business that has had a hand in the parts business for over 100 years. Their story began with now owner’s Ken and Craig Van Wickle’s great-grandparents Ewald and Marie Ufert. Ewald and Marie owned a small garage in Trenton, NJ. They used to travel weekly by train into New York to buy their parts and bring them back to their garage. When demand grew, they transitioned from the repair business to the parts business until their children, Ken and Craig’s parents, took over the business. Their parents opened two stores in Lakewood, NJ and Freehold, NJ which their mother, Carolyn Van Wickle, ran after the passing of their father in 1970.
Present-day, Van Wickle Auto Supply operates three NAPA stores in Spring Lake Heights, Point Pleasant, and Brick. Ken Van Wickle runs the Spring Lakes Heights Store which opened in 1977. His brother, Craig Van Wickle, runs the Point Pleasant store which opened in 1995. In 2012, the family opened a third store in Brick, which is now run by Ken’s son, Ken Van Wickle Jr.
